Song - Lord Have Mercy

by Susan and David Edwards (c)

The painting that accompanies this song is called, “Through the Eyes of a Child".” The song called “Lord Have Mercy,” describes the yearning for a deeper relationship with God and with ourselves.

I walked in darkness

in the middle of day,

alone and fearful as I stumbled.

Eyes blinded by the lies of this world

Where hope within had crumbled

Lost and forlorn, I cried in pain,

and then He came

Lord have mercy on me,

I beg you to let me see

Please heal me Lord, set me free

He touched my eyes;

hope was renewed

Joy, chased away my sorrow

Then, sensing all my shadows inside

Doubts clouded my tomorrow

Lost and forlorn, I cried in pain,

again He came

Lord, have mercy on me,

I beg you to let me see

Please heal me Lord, set me free!

It isn’t my eyes where my problem lies

It’s so much deeper you see

My heart and my soul

have a need to be whole

Lord, have mercy on me

Lord have mercy on me,

I beg you to let me see

You’ve touched my soul, Now I’m free!

I see! I’m free
